| Imagine waking up in the middle of the Costa Rican rainforest, where birdsong mingles with the murmur of hot streams flowing from the depths of the Arenal Volcano. The air, laden with humidity and green aromas, invites you to let yourself be enveloped in a blanket of calm. Just open your eyes to discover a horizon crowned by the volcano, while a light mist rises from the thermal pools, transforming each sunrise into an almost unreal scene. In this corner of northern Costa Rica, the natural hot springs are much more than a simple soak: they're an experience that connects body and spirit. Some visitors choose the open-air baths, surrounded by tropical gardens, where the water flows at temperatures ranging from 25°C to 40°C, naturally heated by the volcano's geothermal activity. Others prefer to retreat to intimate stone pools, hidden among palm trees and ferns, allowing their skin to absorb the minerals while the outside world dissolves into steam. | ||||

Each thermal resort offers its own interpretation of wellness. Some, like those along the banks of the Tabacón River, invite you to follow a path of pools descending into terraces, while others create more exclusive environments, with private areas for those seeking absolute isolation. But beyond the design, what lingers is the feeling of having found a natural sanctuary, where time is measured in breaths, not minutes. |During the dry season (December to April), clear days offer clear views of the volcano. A massage with essential oils inspired by traditional Costa Rican techniques can precede or follow a thermal bath, enhancing muscle relaxation and releasing accumulated tension. Others opt for treatments with volcanic mud, which detoxifies and revitalizes the skin, or for aromatherapy sessions outdoors, while the tropical rain creates a soft symphony in the background. As evening falls, the waters are tinged with the orange glow of the sunset, and the air temperature softens. Some visitors extend the experience with candlelit dinners, savoring local cuisine—from fresh ceviche to tilapia and yuca dishes—while the sounds of the jungle at night accompany every bite. Others prefer to retreat to boutique accommodations, many with private thermal pools on the terrace, where the stars seem to descend to provide company. | |||
