Essential Guide for Colombians Planning a Trip To New YorkIn order to travel to the United States to visit the great city of New York for 7 days, you must apply for a tourist visa (B1/B2). To do so, you must complete the DS-160 form and pay the fee of $185 dollars. After this, schedule an appointment with the United States Embassy or Consulate in Colombia. The waits can be quite long due to the high demand for applications to travel to the United States. However, new appointments for tourist visas have recently opened every Wednesday at 9 a.m., and priority is being given to those who have waited more than a year for their interview. This first step can be cumbersome at first, but you need to be patient and have a strong desire to make this trip. We recommend traveling during the low seasons, specifically between January and March, and between October and November, if you want cheaper fares on flights. During these periods, airlines usually offer more competitive prices. New York offers a wide variety of accommodation options. You can choose to look for places in Manhattan or Queens and Brooklyn that are cheaper. In addition, online platforms allow you to read reviews from other travelers to make the best accommodation decision. New York's public transportation system is efficient and covers the city extensively. You must purchase a MetroCard, which will give you unlimited access to the subway and buses for a certain period of time. New York has many striking sites, you will surely want to visit them all. In order to be able to enter and see multiple attractions in the city, we recommend using tourist cards that offer discounts. In addition, there are free tours that allow you to see the city from a local perspective. Something you should not overlook is taking out travel insurance that covers medical and other unforeseen events. Likewise, using credit or debit cards without international fees can avoid additional charges when making purchases or withdrawals abroad. A 7-day trip from Colombia to New York requires an approximate investment of between $2,997 and $3,237 dollars. This budget covers essential expenses such as tourist visa, airfare, accommodation, food, local transportation and entrance fees to tourist attractions. Ruta Pantera on 3/7/2025 11:31:04 AM |
