Fernando de Noronha es un pequeño archipiélago volcánico en el Atlántico Sur. Es famoso por sus playas de arena dorada, aguas cristalinas y abundante vida marina; gran parte de su territorio (aproximadamente el 70 %) está protegido como Parque Nacional Marino desde 1988, y la UNESCO lo declaró Patrimonio de la Humanidad en 2001 por su importancia ecológica. Su ocupación documentada comenzó a principios del siglo XVI tras una expedición financiada por Fernão de Loronha. A lo largo de su historia, la isla ha sido utilizada como puesto militar, colonia penal y, desde finales del siglo XX, como reserva natural y destino turístico altamente regulado.

Qué Hace Únicas a las Islas Fernando de Noronha

La isla alberga especies emblemáticas como tortugas marinas, delfines y una gran diversidad de peces y corales; muchas playas y piscinas naturales solo pueden visitarse mediante cupos diarios debido a las medidas de conservación; el acceso a las áreas del Parque Marino requiere un boleto específico que controla la capacidad y protege los hábitats.

Imperdibles

Entre las actividades imprescindibles se encuentran el descenso a la Baía do Sancho (frecuentemente votada entre las mejores playas del mundo), el snorkel en piscinas naturales, el buceo con tortugas y el avistamiento de delfines al amanecer. Para comer, son muy recomendados restaurantes como Restaurante do Vale, Varanda Noronha y Xica da Silva; la carta se centra en pescado fresco y mariscos (pescados a la parrilla, moquecas y risottos de mariscos). Los platos principales suelen costar entre USD 11 y USD 33, según el tipo y la temporada, y muchos restaurantes cierran tras la temporada alta de verano en la isla. Las celebraciones típicas combinan música brasileña, forró y fiestas locales en días festivos, aunque la vida nocturna es moderada debido a las políticas de conservación.

Dentro del propio archipiélago, destacan la Fortaleza de São Joaquim (restos y miradores) y el Centro de Visitantes del Parque Nacional. El boleto del Parque Marino (PARNAMAR) para visitantes no residentes es un pago único que da acceso a las atracciones protegidas. En 2025, el precio informado oscilaba entre USD 70 y USD 75 por persona (válido por 10 días). Si deseas combinar la visita con otros atractivos, Recife ofrece museos y sitios históricos como el Instituto Ricardo Brennand, con entradas que van de USD 9 a USD 13. Estos precios son aproximados y deben confirmarse antes del viaje.

La Mejor Forma de Llegar

La forma más común de llegar es en avión desde Recife; la distancia entre Recife y Fernando de Noronha es de aproximadamente 565 km y el vuelo directo suele durar entre 1 y 1,5 horas. Al llegar, los visitantes deben pagar la Tasa de Preservación Ambiental (TPA), que se calcula por día de estancia y puede pagarse en línea o en el aeropuerto; su valor ronda entre USD 18 y USD 20, según ajustes oficiales. El alojamiento va desde posadas sencillas hasta hoteles de lujo: las tarifas habituales oscilan entre USD 100 por noche y USD 400 a USD 800 para alojamientos boutique o de alto nivel. El transporte en la isla se realiza principalmente en buggy, taxi, motocicleta y a pie; el tamaño de la isla reduce los tiempos de desplazamiento (los puntos principales suelen estar a entre 10 y 30 minutos). La mejor época para visitar, en términos de clima y condiciones del mar, es la temporada seca, de agosto a enero, cuando el sol y la visibilidad son óptimos para el buceo y el snorkel.

Consejos Prácticos y de Seguridad

Paga la TPA (Tasa de Preservación Ambiental) y compra tu boleto del Parque Marino antes de llegar para evitar filas; respeta las normas de acceso a las piscinas naturales (capacidad limitada, uso de chalecos salvavidas y guías cuando sea requerido) y evita tocar los corales o alimentar a la fauna. Lleva protector solar biodegradable, botas de senderismo y efectivo en reales brasileños para compras pequeñas; aunque la isla es generalmente segura, respeta los horarios y recomendaciones locales: evita nadar solo en playas con corrientes y contrata operadores autorizados para buceo o paseos en barco.
